Gotta say, while I like the new layouts a lot, and they are going in a good direction, I'm not loving the new compose. I feel like its going in the wrong direction. Maybe its addressing concerns that people have made, I don't know. I feel like its lessed designed, more functional. I'd like to compare the old and new one side-by-side, but I didn't capture the old one. I feel more boxed in, but without guides. I want the old one back. One of the things I've loved about Vox is that it looks good almost all the time (ignoring the ads of course).
I do, however, like the new emails, despite the inclusion of the graphic.
When I went to add a neighbor, I got strong page...
killin me. if i dragged the photo to anywhere with a white space, the photo would disappear. If I wanted to type after enter two photos, I had no cursor until I hit enter. That created a linebreak above the second image (they were side by side). If I hit delete, to try to get the photo to go back up a line, it would delete the photo. If I arrowed down and hit backspace, to move the photo up that line, it would delete the first photo, along with the extra line that had been made.
Finally, out of frustration, I just posted it, and typed this out.
Okay, I'm only mentioning them here so I can remind myself to check to see if these are already listed as bugs (I'm sure this one is known), but the link in the email I got to add a contact is missing a / after .com.
Ugh, I keep hitting enter twice at the end of a paragraph, and it takes me like, 4 backspaces away from where I want to be.
Anyway, lets see what else I can do...
Just a side note, when inserting an image, if i choose to left align it, then select the large size, it automatically changes it to center align. Then if I select medium again, it stays centered. Not crazy about that since I didn't notice it had automatically changed to centered until after I saved it, so I had to go back and edit it again and find out why it changed to centered in the first place.
Gotta say, I'm really enjoying the layout and design of the site so far. Its got that whole web 2.0 look (very flickr like). I haven't epxlored a ton yet, but the styles I've seen have been pretty slick.
On this compose form, the highlighted left justify graphic flickers every time I type a new character in (but not backspace).
How it is handling hard returns is kind of weird too. Like inserting two hard returns when I hit enter, then going back to fix it messes things up a bit as well. I'll mess around and get more detail for a bug report (wherever that is).
When I uploaded my animated icon from lj, it resized it down for the profile view, and when it did, it must have lost information, because the animated is pretty jacked now.
Also, since some places like del.icio.us use space delimited tags, and others use comma, it'd be nice if it made mention of how comet delimits multiple tags without having to go through the whole "What are tags?" page. In fact, on that page, it shows each tag in quotes, I'm assume because its seperating the words from the content, but I imagine a lot of people are going to end up quoting tags.
