i've been playing guitar like crazy lately. at first i was just picking songs that I wanted to learn and then googling the tabs for it. lately though i've been working on my own songs. I just finished two of them today. I'm thinking about recording them, but I'm not confident in
a. my ability to sing
b. my ability to play guitar
c. my ability to record it
so i'm not sure if i'll get around to it. as some of you know, these days haven't been the most chipper for me, so as a result these songs are pretty much elliot smith type depressing. if I do record them though, this'll be the first place they go :)
Reading djchall's post about online privacy, I decided to do some searching on myself. The problem is that whenever I do, I find things I did or posted once that I had forgotten about. So it ends up that I view these stalking excercises as a positive experience. Here is what I found today...this is from my first season playing Kickball, when we were called Draggin Ballz and I was captain...
I know I may be slow here, but I just discovered that when you are sharing audio or video, by choosing "Large" it embeds the flash player right into the post, while choosing a smaller option just creates an icon and link to the media.
So all this time I've been selecting medium for videos, and small for audio. While its really cool that the player can be embedded right into the post, its kind of lame to have to select Large for audio...I mean, really...I don't want a huge player there just to play one mp3.
For example (another excuse to post mp3s)

large...
see...I just don't think I need this whole big box in order to embed an audio file...
and for video...I wonder if it being on youtube affects it or not...

Well, its been a while since I've check, but I think this is it...
Okay...I don't really have this book on my nightstand...but I thought it'd be better than saying "I don't have a nightstand nor am I reading any books at the moment".
with the kickball season coming to a close, and no summer session (too hot!), its got me thinking about what else to do. The natural progession of course is to go from kickball to dodgeball, right?
So looking around at arizona dodgeball leagues, there's nothing to get me excited.
So I've been talking with some friends about starting an extreme dodgeball league here. What I'd like to do is to create a league that has the flair and theatrics of rollerderby, but the fun and drinking of kickball.
So I'm trying to get a cage...and some metal bands...and create a set of dodgeball rules that incorporates points for style (like doing a backflip while dodging, grabbing a ball with your feet, and throwing it as you come around).
Just not sure if I can have this done for the summer lull.

If you count the CDs that I have for the kids, then without doubt the Elmopallooza CD is my most embarrassing. On it is a song by Kenny Loggins...I mean, really. Not the almost-so-bad-he's-cool Loggins from the 80s, or the actual cool Loggins from Loggins and Messina in the 70s either. I'm talking 2000 Loggins. Terrible, terrible. See for yourself..
If those don't count, then I don't think I have a single CD that I am embarrassed of. For the most part, I let the kids trash the ones I don't like, so they're all gone.
Actually, the most embarrassing CD I have would have to be Small Band. Mainly because of the band name and some terrible off tune guitar and lyrics. Except for a few songs like this...
